My Favorite Products Of May

My Favorite Perfume - Calvin Klein SHEER BEAUTY

My parents gave me this for Christmas but only started using it last month. It's light and floral and perfect for summer.

H&M White Mulberry Body Scrub

This smells AMAZING!!I was so impressed with this H&M body scrub. It makes my skin feel so soft after I use it. It's very creamy and which is great for my dry skin.

L'Oreal's Elvive Extraordinary Oil

I came across this product on my moms dressing table :P She was raving about how great it was and so I tried it and loved it! I can see what she was talking about it was very light and made my hair feel really soft. I usually use it on my mid lengths and ends.

L'Oreal's Tecni Art Force 2 Spiral Splendor

I use to use this product and then I stopped for a while to try out some other stuff but I got back to using it on my holiday. It is definitely one of the best products for my curly sisters out there. It gives my curls a lot of definition, bounce and makes my hair look very healthy. Nothing I've come across has beat it yet.

The Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion

Bahrain's weather really made my skin dry and sensitive. I'm so glad I carried this cleanser with me cause it was just perfect , not too harsh and did the job!

L'Oreal Paris Re Vital Lift Night Cream

Like I mentioned my skin was dry and sensitive, this gave my skin the extra TLC it needed. It was very moisturizing and I woke up with even nicer skin in the mornings.

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss- African Queen

I picked up this lip gloss on a sale and I'm so glad I did. It's a beautiful color and looks amazing. I used it
every opportunity I got.  Check out the swatch of it.

Prestige Total Intensity Eye Liner- Daring Green

This liner is a beautiful green. It's super smooth and doesn't drag your skin when you put it on. It brings out the brown in your eyes and has a good staying power.

Cleansing ,Toning , Moisturizing And Protecting Your Skin

The truth is that most of us don't have beautiful skin , we don't even have so called ''normal'' skin. Instead  we have dry bits ,oily bits or irritated bits. The C.T.M.P skin care routine should help you create beautiful , perfect ''normal'' skin.
Before we go ahead this routine is just the basic routine for every skin type, in my future blog posts I will go in depth about this routine for each skin type specifically .

C is for cleansing

You need to properly cleanse your skin at least once a day preferably before you go to bed. Some of the cleansers you could use are given below
Glycerin soaps and cleansing bars
Normal soap is too harsh for your faces delicate skin but soaps that have moisturizing ingredients can be a compromise.
Foam cleansers
These are great when you need to remove thick sunscreen or even makeup. It's basically great for deep cleansing.
Cream cleansers
Milky cleansers tend to moisturize while they cleanse.
Cleansing wipes
Cleansing wipes are great for  women that are in a hurry or just tired at the end of the day. One good wipe and your done! Pick wipes that are specific to your skin type.

T is for toner

The use of toner's are very controversial in the beauty world. Some say their not at all useful some say they are needed to close your pores after you use your cleanser or to remove any dirt left over after you cleanse .If you do use a toner it's best to use one that's alcohol free. I personally use rose water as a toner because it makes my skin soft and makes me feel like I'm making sure my skin is squeaky clean before I go to bed.

M is for Moisturizer

No matter what skin you have you need a moisturizer. The types of moisturizer's are
Gel or lotion based moisturizer
These type of moisturizers are great for wearing during the day because they tend to be very light, have less oil and are easily absorbed.
Heavy Moisturizer
These are oil based and thick , great for winter time or for very dry skin.

P is for protection

If you want good skin, protect it! Sunscreen screens out harmful and aging ultraviolet rays. For day to day wear, SPF 15 is enough , but if you're going to be out all day or on holiday , wear SPF 30 or above.

So cleanse, tone, moisturize and protect your skin DAILY for the best skin you can have.
In my future posts you will learn how to apply this routine for each particular skin type.

PRODUCT REVIEW - Lakme Eye Colour Quartet Tanjore Rush

The lakme Tanjore rush eye shadow quart have become the eye shadows I've been reaching for lately. I've used them on a few photo shoot's so far, just love how they look face to face and show up on camera. It contains 7g of product and is priced at 425 INR.

Photo taken without flash

This quart has two metallic colours and two shimmer colours. The green and the reddish brown eye shadow are some of the most beautiful shimmer eye shadows I've seen. I do recommend you wear these two colours with a primer under them because there can be a bit of fall out. These shadows are so pigmented it's crazy. The pictures of the swatches I took should give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

I used the green shimmer shadow to create this out door look. It's my favourite colour in the quart.

I used the gold shadow to create this party look.

Hope you ladies get a chance to purchase this one, I'm loving it.

Why You Need To Use Hair Oil

There are so many hair oils in the market but why do we need to use hair oil in the first place?
Our scalp naturally produces oil which can only reach hair that's close to our scalp so we need hair oil to moisturize the rest of our hair. It can be great to give yourself a head massage. If you’re going to apply oil to your scalp, massage your scalp in circular movements so you'll get some blood circulation going and in turn relieve some stress.
So now that we know why we need oil we can move on to what's good in the market.

I personally prefer coconut oil cause it's light weight and easy to wash out. I have been loving the flora parachute oil. It has a jasmine scent to it and is even lighter than regular coconut oils. It’s very easy to wash out of my curly hair.

The vatika coconut oil has henna and lemon extracts in it. I'm not a big fan of this one. My hair seems dull after I wash it out and I don't like henna in any of my hair products cause it's bad for your hair. If you’re the type of person who likes to put oil in your hair over night this is not the product for you cause of the henna.

The L'Oreal elvive extraordinary oil is fairly new in the market and is very expensive compared to anything else on the shelves. It's a blend of many oils. It's light weight and smells amazing. It’s an oil you can wear after you've washed your hair and won't make your hair look too oily. I will be buying this again.
There are a lot of other great aromatic oils in the market that are great for stress relief, do try them out if you get the chance. It's preferable to oil your hair half an hour before you wash your hair. Don't let it sit in your hair all night. Don't forget your skin needs moisture, so does your hair.
Have a good weekend everyone.
xoxo

Easy Summer Hair Do

Grecian /Summer Hairdo

This hair style takes 5 minutes to do. Very easy! All you need is a hair band and some bop pins. The hair style does look a little messy cause my bestie didn’t have a lot of time and she didn’t want to use hair spray but you get an idea of how this hair style looks. I think this hair style would look nice with a nice summer dress or even for a night out. This style would comes out especially well if you have medium length hair.

Meet Berith my best friend :) Is'nt she oh so pretty??She was sweet enough to let me experiment on her.

Anyways you want to start of by teasing the back section of your hair so it gives your hair some volume.

Put your hair band on. You can pin it in place to make sure your hair band does'nt slip off.

Take small sections at a time and fold it into the hair band. Pin it in place to make sure your hair stays in place.

So that's the finished hair do...Pretty easy!Hope you guys try it out this summer!

Flat Iron Your Hair Like A Pro

Flat Iron Your Hair Like A Pro

What You Will Need

1.  A blow dryer
2.  A flat brush/round brush
3.  Hair serum
4.  A heat protection hair product
5. A flat iron rod

You need to start off with just washed towel dried hair.
Apply a coin sized amount of hair serum to your hair. Spread it all over your hair with your fingers. Serum nourishes and gives your hair a healthy shine. I use the livon hair serum. If you have straight hair you might want to skip applying serum, it may make your hair look oily.

Next you need to apply a coin sized amount of your thermal hair protection cream or iron protection product on your hair; make sure you spread it well by combing through your hair once you have applied the product. I use L’Oreal’s iron finish tecni art force 3.It gives the most beautiful finish to your hair.Blow dry your hair straight with the help of a flat brush. You might think that blow drying your hair is unnecessary but it actually helps cut down the time it would take to flat iron your hair and it will give you a better end result. No frizzes for sure!!

Once you’re done blow drying your hair, make 6 sections using clips.
Flat iron your hair one section at a time and *tadaaaaaaaaaaa* you have straight hair!! J

What Skin Do You Have??

YOUR SKIN TYPE

DID YOU KNOW??Men have thicker skin than women..LIKE LITERALLY!It's one of the reasons they DON'T AGE as fast as women. They have more collagen and elastin.Collagen gives your skin strength and elastin gives your skin the ability to stretch.
Have you ever wondered why women have softer skin that men?We have more fat deposits under our skin.  -.-

Ever wonder what skin type you have?Hopefully this post can clear your doubts. :)

DRY SKIN

Dry skin tends to feel flaky, dry and tight. It does'nt look shiny at all.Dry skin tends to have pigmentation problems and can easily develope wrinkles thus it's more prone to aging.Don't let the occurance of white heads on your nose or skin fool you into thinking you have oily skin..It could be a build up dead skin cells on your skin.

OILY SKIN

People who have oily skin are considered the most blessed people in the beauty world cause they tend not to age as fast as the rest of us as the oil hydrates their skin. Unfortunetly with this blessing comes responsibility cause if you don't take care of your skin ,it can get very oily so it tends to suffer from alot of pimples, clogged pores and even acne.Oily skin looks shiney beacause it has over active sebaceous glands. The most oilest parts of the face are the forehead , nose and chin.Oily skin tends to have enlarged pores.

NORMAL SKIN

Normal skin has a good balance of moisture and oil.The pore size on normal skin is very small. The normal skin type has a very even tone and is soft as well as clear in nature. If you have normal skin you most probably have a peaches and cream complexion.

COMBINATION SKIN

Combination skin type will either have an oily T- Zone (forehead, nose and chin area) and  dry skin on the other parts of their skin or vice versa.
This type of skin can be quite tricky to care for but where there is a will there is a way. :P

SENSITIVE SKIN

Sensitive skin has broken capillaries thus having red undertones. The skin can be very sensitive to products used causing irritation , itching and a burning sensation on the skin.Products used for this skin type can make or break it.

Hopefully this post helped you find out what skin type you have.Knowing what skin you have is key to knowing how to care for it. Personally knowing I had dry- sensitive skin definetly helped me. In the next blog post find out what skin routine you should follow for each individual skin type.

P.s- Got a hair cut today at B.Blunt, Banglore. They did an AMAZING Job!Do check them out :)

Maybelline's COLOURsensational Moisture Extreme In Summer Sunset

Moisturising Red Lipstick

Today I'm giving you guys a review on the RED lipstick I've been wearing on my lips lately.I do find that this product does live up to its name by being moisturising to my lips.

This lip stick is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo pigmented and it's a beautiful red.All you need is one good swipe on your lips and your ready to go. Check out the swatches to see what I'm talking about.

The finish of this lipstick is quite creamy and glossy but it can easily be made totally matte if you blot it.It has a staying power of about 4 hours and I do find that it ever so slightly bleeds other than that I'd have to say this lipstick is a YAAAAAAYYYYY for me!! :)

Oh and I must mention I dont really like how the packaging looks but I have to give it credit for being quite sterdy..I dropped it yesterday and it hit the floor quite hard I thought for sure either the outer caseing cracked or the lipstick was broken ...but picked it up and *taddddaaa* IT WAS STILL BEAUTIFUL!!!! :) I paid 220- 225 INR for this lipstick..

I do recommend you try this lip stick out or even another shade in this range.

L'Oreal Professional X-Tenso Care Straight Masque

SHOw YOUR LOCKs SOME LOVe LADIES

I coloured my hair around 6 months back for a change and I....TOTALLY LOVED IT!! :)
Please don't let the above picture fool you it was taken after a blow dry, I have beautiful naturally curly hair and my beautiful naturally curly hair is dry by nature so for my beautiful naturally curly hair to look beautiful it needs maintenance :P So this brings us to my product review for today L'Oreal Professional X-Tenso Care Straight Mask.

Just in case you were wondering NO this product is'nt just for people who have straight hair.I had the priviledge of studying the process of permanent hair straighten( hair rebonding) , perming and all about L'Oreal Professional products by L'Oreals trainers in beauty school. They normally recomend this product to people who have chemically treated hair (straightened or permed). If you have rebonded or permed your hair I recommend you use the X- Tenso Care Shampoo and then the Mask as you would a normal conditioner everytime you wash your hair.

WHY I USE AND RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT ????????

Within a month and a half of colouring I found my hair geting alot dryer..like I said earlier my hair tends to be dry by nature so it geting dryer was starting to make it feel like straw. My L'Oreal trainer recommended I use this product and so I did.IT DID WONDERS!!!It's made my hair look and feel even better than before I even thought of colouring it. :) I think if your hair is at it's worst you could definetly benifit from this product , it's sure to knock some life into it.

HOW I USE THIS PRODUCT

I shampoo my hair ,rinse it out well , squeeze out any access water and apply a coin sized amount of the mask cream from the mid lenghts to ends of my hair.I leave it on for 5 minutes and rinse it out well.
If You have time and feel like really showing yourself some love I recommend you apply the mask and towel wrap your hair ,and then apply a face mask to pamper your skin. That should give your hair mask a good 20 minutes to work on your hair.

TECHNOLOGY PRESENT IN THE PRODUCT

Pro- Keratin- This ingredient protects your hair from the outside.Pro- Keratin has 3 important amino acids naturally represented on the hair fibre. It repairs the hair cuticle(the outer layer of your hair) and strengthens it intensely.

Incell (Intra Cuticular Reinforcement) - This ceramide cement is a lipid developed to strengthen hair from the inside. It has the power to penetrate the cuticle to fill fragile areas , promote repair and protect the interior of the fiber.

AVAILABILITY AND PRICE OF THE PRODUCT

This is a professional salon product so you won't find it at your local health store but this product is available in any L'oreal salon or YLG salon &spa(where I purchased mine). You can also get it from any salon supply shop in India. It retails for about 550- 600 INR.

I tryed searching for this product in Bahrain(A Beautiful Island) , it was priced very highly and very very hard to get ahold of if you wer'nt apart of a salon.I recommend you buy it online or buy it in India.

So get this product and show your locks some love ladies :)
